The Grand Egyptian Museum is a must-visit destination. Opening hours can be found on their website at [https://grandegyptianmuseum.org](https://grandegyptianmuseum.org). As the largest museum in Egypt, it is conveniently located next to the Pyramids. CIG Tours recommends visiting the Pyramids in the morning, followed by a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum for a complete experience.
Cairo's weather varies significantly between morning and noon, especially depending on the season. In the cooler months from November to February, mornings are typically mild and can be quite pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 20°C (59°F to 68°F). As the day progresses, temperatures gradually rise, reaching comfortable highs of around 25°C (77°F) by noon.
In contrast, during the hotter months from May to September, Cairo experiences a notable jump in temperature from morning to noon. Early mornings start off warm, around 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F), but by midday, temperatures can soar to 35°C to 40°C (95°F to 104°F) or higher, making it quite hot. The difference between morning and noon temperatures can be quite pronounced, with a rapid increase in heat as the sun rises higher in the sky.
Khan El-Khalili Market is a bustling and historic bazaar in the heart of Cairo, offering a vibrant mix of traditional shops, cafes, and lively street vendors. Known for its intricate handicrafts, jewelry, spices, and textiles, this centuries-old market is a treasure trove for those looking to experience the true essence of Egyptian culture.
We recommend visiting Khan El-Khalili at night when the market comes alive with lights, sounds, and an energetic atmosphere. Don’t hesitate to ask for discounts ( up to 90%) when shopping—haggling is part of the experience! However, keep an eye on your belongings as the market can get crowded. With its rich history and vibrant vibe, a visit to Khan El-Khalili is a must on your Cairo itinerary.
Just a few hours from Cairo, Alexandria offers a perfect escape to a city rich in history and coastal charm. As you arrive, start with the Alexandria National Museum, where centuries of Egyptian heritage are on display. Wander through the Citadel of Qaitbay, a striking fortress with views of the Mediterranean, built where the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria once stood. Don’t miss the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a modern marvel that pays homage to the ancient world’s greatest library, and the Roman Amphitheater, a hidden gem of Alexandria’s Roman past. This tour is an ideal mix of culture, history, and laid-back seaside vibes.
